The Bhagavad Gita

The Bhagavad Gita (c. 2nd century BCE-2nd century CE)

“One who would hear
without sneering,
full of trust,
would be freed,
and would reach
those happy worlds
where actions are pure.”

  • This quote is from discourse/chapter 18, verse 71 of the Bhagavad Gita (a Hindu scripture included in book 6 of the epic poem, the Mahabharata). The translation used here is by Laurie L. Patton (Penguin Classic, 2014).
